BBC Four

BBC Four : Commissioned 15 contemporary British artists to create ‘party’ installations for the launch of the new digital culture channel. All artists selected were featured in the first month of broadcast. A key element to the commissioning of work was to raise the profile of the channel by engaging the artistic and cultural community. Two thousand guests included key politicians, media figures, artists, writers and musicians. Vamp worked closely with the BBC to secure the guest list. Many of the works featured were subsequently exhibited in high profile public exhibitions reinforcing the role of the BBC as a commissioner of new work and talent. The most talked about media launch in London.

BBC Three

BBC Three : Designed infinity logo wall for gallery entrance and filmed a BBC Three time lapse Ident with 3 divers for the main party space. Video wall art was commissioned throughout the gallery with an Abigail Lane Sleight of Hand magic triptych in the lounge and surreal landscape projections with floating blue balloons wrapped around the rubber racecourse feature bar. Installation immersion for 1500 guests.

Restoration

Restoration : Produced a blueprint for the evening’s exploration of a Grade II listed Magistrates’ Court breathing new life into a defunct building for Endemol  & BBC TWO’s series launch. Responding to the historic nature of the building Jane and Louise Wilson produced a film for Courtroom 1 & David Cunningham a sound installation for Courtroom 2. Richard Woods re-configured the Victorian terrazzo pattern for the outdoor space & younger artists created works for the holding cells. Scafclad constructed bags with mini concrete house paperweights were gifted to 600 influencers from Historic British Trusts and Associations.

BBC Culture : A series of interjections and commissions for the BBC over 12 years. Saving Planet Earth wishing tree, Culture Show launch drawing & quote publication, Vinyl art installations for meeting rooms, Jeremy Deller Woodcut cloth bags, A mooing record for BBC comedy, Breathing terrariums for Horizon, Adam Dant archive drawings of the history of the Beeb, Mirrorball dancers for a talent party, a colossal neon angel for Birmingham plus many many more…

Al Gore

Al Gore : ‘Good Profit’& sustainability. Al Gore was invited as the keynote speaker on ‘An Inconvenient Truth’ for 800 guests along with other high profile speakers from Arup and MTV. Leading by example we conceived and created a uniquely designed 100% carbon neutral conference. The project involved numerous green partners from Council Waste departments to Milk delivery depots. Even the ‘Ark’ building Vamp identified to host the event was being recycled. FT’s ‘How to Spend It’ noted the event as having ”intelligently and brilliantly delivered the message of sustainability in practice”
